Firmware Field Descriptions

Firmware Area

Firmware Version - the Emulex firmware version number for this model of HBA.

Operational Firmware Name - if visible, the name of the firmware that is operational.

Initial Firmware - the version of the firmware stub responsible for installing the SLI code into its proper slot.

SLI-1 Firmware Name - the name of the SLI-1 firmware overlay.

SLI-2 Firmware Name - the name of the SLI-2 firmware overlay.

Kernel Version - the version of the firmware responsible for starting the driver.

BootBIOS Area

BootBios status -  indicates whether the system BIOS can read Emulex boot code off of the HBA. If this field shows, “Enabled”, the system BIOS can see boot code on the HBA. If this field shows, “Disabled”, the system BIOS will see no boot code on the HBA, thus any boot from SAN is not possible.

Disable/Enable button - If there is no BootBIOS present, this button is not available.  If there is a BootBIOS present and it is disabled,  click “Enable” to enable BootBIOS.  If there is a BootBIOS present and it is enabled, click “Disable” to disable the BootBIOS.

Note If the state of the boot code message on the board has changed, this change will be reflected immediately on the Details tab.
